DAY 1 — Cusco – Andes – Cloud Forest – Pilcopata

Morning
• Early pickup from your hotel in Cusco (4:30–5:00 AM)
• Scenic drive through high Andean landscapes
• Visit the Ninamarca pre-Inca burial towers
• Coffee and snack stop in Paucartambo, a traditional colonial village

Midday
• Enter Manu National Park
• Begin descending into the Cloud Forest, one of the most biodiverse areas in Peru
• Guided walk to spot:
- Cock-of-the-Rock (national bird)
- Woolly monkeys & capuchins
- Trogons, quetzals, hummingbirds
- Waterfalls, orchids & bromeliads

Afternoon/Evening
• Continue to Pilcopata / Bamboo Lodge
• Optional night walk to see insects, frogs & possible nocturnal mammals

Overnight: Pilcopata/Bamboo Lodge, Meals: Lunch, Dinner

DAY 2 — Pilcopata – Atalaya Port – Boat Ride – Machuwasi Lagoon

Morning
• Breakfast and drive to Atalaya Port (30 min)
• Begin scenic motorboat journey on the Alto Madre de Dios River
• Wildlife spotting along riverbanks: herons, kingfishers, vultures, capybaras

Midday
• Walk to Machuwasi Lagoon
- Raft exploration to observe hoatzins, caymans, toucans & marsh birds
• Nature walk around the lagoon with your guide

Afternoon
• Visit a local native community
- Learn about traditional medicine, farming (cacao, bananas), and daily life
• Return to lodge

Evening
• Free time or night walk

DAY 3 — Pilcopata – Parrots Clay Lick – River Excursions – Jungle Walks

Early Morning
• Boat ride to visit a parrots and parakeets clay lick
- Observe green parrots, parakeets, and occasional macaws feeding on mineral-rich clay

Morning
• Jungle hike focusing on:
- Medicinal plants
- Giant trees
- Small mammals & insects
- Birdlife in the lowland forest

Midday
• Lunch at the lodge

Afternoon
• Optional activities:
- River tubing (in safe sections)
- Fishing (basic equipment provided)
- Swimming areas depending on conditions
- Additional wildlife walk

Evening
• Night activity (walk or river search for caymans)

DAY 4 — Pilcopata – Atalaya – Cloud Forest – Cusco

• Boat ride back to Atalaya Port
