Day 1: Cusco – Piskacucho – Km 82 – Wayllabamba

Distance: ~12 km
Walking time: 5–6 hours
Lowest altitude: 2,600 m
Highest altitude: 3,000 m
Difficulty: Moderate

Highlights:
• Pick-up ~4:00–5:00 AM from Cusco
• Breakfast stop in Ollantaytambo
• Start the trek at Km 82 (Piscacucho)
• Walk along the Urubamba River
• Visit the Inca site Llactapata
• Lunch on the trail
• Arrive at Wayllabamba camp

Overnight:
• Campsite at ~3,000 m
• Warm drinks & briefing for next day

Day 2: Wayllabamba – Warmiwañusca – Pacaymayo

Distance: ~11 km
Walking time: 6–8 hours
Lowest altitude: 3,000 m
Highest altitude: 4,215 m (Dead Woman’s Pass)
Difficulty: Hardest day

Highlights:
• Early start around 5:00–6:00 AM
• Steep ascent through cloud forest
• Reach Dead Woman’s Pass (highest point of the trek)
• Celebration + photos at the summit
• Long descent to Pacaymayo camp

Overnight:
• Campsite at ~3,600 m
• Hot meal & rest — tomorrow is full of archaeological sites

Day 3: Pacaymayo – Runkurakay – Phuyupatamarka – Wiñay Wayna

Distance: ~16 km
Walking time: 8–9 hours
Lowest altitude: 2,700 m
Highest altitude: 3,900 m
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging

Highlights:
This is the most beautiful day of the trail.
• Visit Runkurakay ruin
• Cross the Second Pass (3,950 m)
• Explore Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarka, terraces & viewpoints
• Descend the “Inca steps” through cloud forest
• Reach Wiñay Wayna, the most stunning archaeological site before Machu Picchu

Overnight:
• Campsite at Wiñay Wayna (~2,650 m)
• Early briefing for sunrise arrival
• Sleep early — wake-up is around 3:30 AM

Day 4: Wiñay Wayna – Sun Gate – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Distance: ~5 km
Walking time: 2–3 hours to Machu Picchu
Difficulty: Easy

Highlights:
• Wake around 3:30 AM
• Pass checkpoint at 4:30–5:00 AM
• One last push along the narrow, scenic trail
• Arrive at the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) for sunrise views of Machu Picchu
• Descend to the citadel for a guided tour (2 hours)
• Free time to explore
• Bus down to Aguas Calientes

Return Back to Cusco

Finish:
• Train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy, then bus to Cusco
• Arrive back in Cusco around 7:00–9:00 PM

Reserve Now Pay Later Ticketing
