Day 1: Cusco – Cloud Forest – Pilcopata/Bamboo Lodge

Morning
• Early pickup from your hotel in Cusco (4:30–5:00 AM)
• Drive through the Andes, passing colonial towns and striking mountain scenery
• Stop at Ninamarca pre-Inca burial towers
• Continue to Paucartambo, a traditional Andean village

Midday
• Enter Manu National Park and descend into the lush Cloud Forest
• Walk along forest trails to spot:
- Cock-of-the-Rock (Peru’s national bird)
- Woolly monkeys and capuchin monkeys
- Bromeliads, orchids & ferns

Afternoon
• Continue to your lodge in Pilcopata or Bamboo Lodge
• Optional evening night walk to observe frogs, insects & nocturnal wildlife

Overnight: Pilcopata/Bamboo Lodge, Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2: Pilcopata – Atalaya Port – Machuwasi Lagoon – Local Community

Morning
• Breakfast and drive to Atalaya Port
• Board a motorized canoe down the Alto Madre de Dios River
• Spot river birds, capybaras, raptors & river otters (occasionally)

Midday
• Short hike to Machuwasi Lagoon
- Wildlife viewing on wooden rafts
- Look for hoatzins, caymans, herons, and other water birds

Afternoon
• Visit a local native community to learn about:
- Traditional customs
- Local agriculture (cacao, bananas, yucca)
- Handicrafts & daily life

Evening
• Return to lodge
• Optional night hike or relaxation

Overnight: Pilcopata/Bamboo Lodge, Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Pilcopata – Atalaya – Cusco

Morning
• Early breakfast
• River ride back to Atalaya Port
• Return drive toward Cusco through the cloud forest
• Wildlife stops along the way (birds, monkeys, orchids)

Midday
• Lunch en route
• Final scenic viewpoints in the Andes

Evening
• Arrive in Cusco (approx. 5–7 PM)
